Naturally-occurring, Conserved Molecule Originally isolated from the thymus gland, Tβ4 is a naturally-occurring molecule. It exists in every cell except red blood cells and is found in highest concentration in blood platelets, the first cells to enter a wound. Tβ4 is identical from species to species and is “conserved”. A conserved molecule means that the amino acid sequences of key regions have remained relatively unchanged throughout evolution. Most biochemists would agree that there is a reason a molecule is conserved as it likely plays an important biological role. The company believes that as a conserved molecule, the effects of Tβ4 seen in animals may translate more readily to humans. |
